It focuses on compelled key decryption in light of the privilege against self

incrimination and is
basically divided into two large chapters, the first one concerning the emergence of data encryption
and decryption in technology as well as their treatment
in legislation. The second one, which
constitutes the main chapter of the dissertation is an attempt to analyze the legislation of certain states
and the jurisprudence mainly of the
European Court of Human Rights
related to mandatory key
disclosure in the
light of the privilege against se
