Nowadays, much more countries assess and admit the essential need to prevent the nature and planet from increasing harms of the Green house effect. It is widely discussed that people from developed and developing countries should bear the responsibility for their behaviour - overconsumption of limited natural resources, wasting of materials and creating non-recyclable garbage. This need for change already has opened a room for new business activity, which meet the principles of sustainable development – producing energy from renewable sources. Different countries have different climate and conditions, thus various resources, and due to the technological progress more natural powers can be transformed into electricity.
This business project examines how the process of promotion and development of renewable energy producing facilities goes in Bulgaria and more specifically what difficulties and uncertainties investors and owners have faced and how to assess such a project.
The overall contribution of the current work is to underline the major risks that should be preliminary considered. Furthermore, the dissertation aims to support the process of defining and estimation the importance and weight the effect of different factors which could jeopardise the project; proposes advices how to take measures in order to realize the project so that the investment to become operational and successful, and thus keeping and motivating the entrepreneurial spirit and sustainability.
Therefore, a case study analysis was adopted by qualitative research. The primary data have been collected through several interviews with managers, owners and investors in green energy projects. For the secondary data broader theoretical themes, articles and researches on the matter from specialized existing literature have been used.
The dissertation provides useful managerial and insightful practical guidance not only for the potential investors in green energy producing facilities, but also to any

entrepreneurial project related to energy efficiency. The later is considered to be one of the most important and sensitive area for improvements in safeguarding the nature as well as for continuing keeping the main principles of sustainable.
