This
dissertation
is
written
as
part
of
the
MSc
in
Hospitality
and
Tourism
Management
at
the
International
Hellenic
University.
This
dissertation
explores
the
possibilities
of
ex
panding
the
touristic
activities
and
events
that
take
place
in
Thessaloniki
transforming
it
into
an
eventful
city
taking
advantage
of
the
UNESCO
monuments
and
more
specifically
the
religious
ones
.
Firstly,
the
current
situation
is
analyzed
by
identifying
i
ts positioning
.
In
order
to
identify
the
current
position,
a
thorough
research
will
be
held,
identifying
the
Strengths,
Weaknesses,
Opportunities
and
Threats
of
the
city
of
Thessaloniki.
In
addition,
the
functioning
of
the
processes
will
be
analyzed
that
together
with
the
protection
(tangible
and
intangible
wise)
will
eventually
lead
to
the
enhancement
and
promotion
of
Thessaloniki
as
an
eventful
city
that
combines
modern
t
ouristic
activities
with
the
promotion
of
its
historical
-
cultural
monuments.
