This dissertation was written as part of the MSc in Master of Arts (MA) in Art, Law and Economy at the International Hellenic University.
This thesis is an attempt to define the human administration potential as well as marketing strategies that are followed. Its aim is to present the administrative issues of the organization of a music festival, and the importance of the Human resource management in their implementation. Alongside, this thesis will present also the impact the music festivals have in local and national level, especially during a time of economic crisis.
In the first part of this dissertation, there is an extensive presentation of the Human Resource Management area, its principles and the basic ideas and definitions. In the second part a general reference is made to the wider context of musical festivals, but also to the part of the Human Resource Management with regards to the music festivals. Then the thesis moves on to the specific presentation of the Reworks festival. This chapter presets the analysis of the festival which is the case study of this thesis.
This dissertation aims at exploring the landscape of the cultural action of Greek state focused in the phenomenon of the organization of festivals in Greece, as well as examining the role of the festival in the local cultural policy. The Reworks Festival that takes place every September in Thessaloniki will act as the case study in this paper.
