This dissertation was written as part of the MSc in Banking & Finance at the International Hellenic University and intends to contribute to the overall presentation of the historical performance of the Greek fleet in different ways as also to indicate the main driving forces that are about to uplift the Industry in the future. Moreover, we are going to present the overall credit performance of the companies and in what manner they comply (or not) with the loan portfolios of the banks the companies have borrowed from. Furthermore, Greek Fleet size in a matter of vessels and number of Shipping companies, age of vessels per category and Dead Weight Tonnage capacity shall be another important indicator as part of the study. Regarding data, we will use a pool of them which will be carefully assessed to avoid any possible result abnormalities, hence they are adjusted, being able to refer on and apply for the same time scale. Our sample will span from 1st of January 2007 to 31st of December 2016. These data will be obtained from Bloomberg, Petrofin, Poten & Clarkson’s Databases.
