This dissertation was written as part of the MA in Art Law and Intellectual Property Rights at the International Hellenic University. It approaches matters of prohibition of distraction of cultural heritage , both tangible and intangible, that can take place in any form ( e.g. pillage, theft, decontextualisation, tear-down). Through examining past and in force legal regimes this dissertation will try to implement ways of prohibition of mass cultural distraction that is happening in the occupied by the ISIS territories.
