This dissertation was written as part of the Master of Arts (MA) in Art Law and Arts Management at the International Hellenic University. This paper is devoted to the case regarding the four Cypriot Byzantine frescoes that came to the possession of the NGO Walk of Truth and its founder Mrs. Tasoula Hadjitofi in 2014 and what ensued until their return. The case record will unfold into chapters of chronological order that will examine the details of the stances of the corresponding sides and the semantics of their professional, legal and diplomatic approach in regard to this case. Even though it is denied by some parties in their official statements; that there is a dispute between the State and the Church, the claims made by the State in this particular case creates a de facto dispute that to this day remains unresolved and undeclared.
