The paper discusses the interesting issue of dress in the Macedonian kingdom and the neighboring regions. The main objective of the study constitutes the tracking
and recording of all the basic clothing types and their variants, which appear to be in use, during the Classical and Hellenistic Eras. The thorough observation and in detail description of the selected artifacts, deriving from all the different categories of art, are combined with the employment of the available textual sources and literature, for the extraction of general conclusions. The selection of artifacts is limited on the ones,
found during the excavations at the aforementioned areas of interest, while special focus is laid on the cities of the Macedonian kingdom, due to the plentiful
archaeological material, deriving from them. An attempt is made to present the individual clothing types, which characterize the Macedonian kingdom and seek all the
possible particular elements, which distinguish the Macedonian dress, from the corresponding one of the surrounding areas and the southern Greece. The problem statement relies on the providing of a general view, regarding the dress, its importance to the daily human life and its manufacturing process.
