This dissertation was written as part of Executive MBA (EMBA) at the International Hellenic University.
The business consultancy project will focus on small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and propose the way of choosing the right Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to grow and become successful companies. Further, it will propose specific KPIs for a real small company named AKSES. The steps of choosing the right KPIs for AKSES could be a pattern for all SMEs.
At the beginning, studying the literature, the dissertation defines what is success for SMEs, which are the performance measurement models, which are the performance indicators and how a SME should choose the right KPIs.
After choosing the Balance Scorecard (BSC), the AKSES company is introduced as well as the chosen KPIs. To compare and understand if the chosen KPIs are the right ones, a research was made from the industry where AKSES is part of. An analysis of ratios was made to compare the industry with AKSES and finally, there is a discussion about the results and future research for SMEs
