The dissertation is looking through the way a fish auction works. By observing, analysing, and researching the structure of it, the way employees handle their tools and mechanisms and the people that contribute to the working cycle, opportunities for redesigning will be proposed. The focused group is the workers and merchants of the fish auction. More specifically, the workers will be studied under the light of ergonomic analysis on how they operate, their possible false actions such as incorrect ways of lifting, pushing, accidents that have occurred, actions that may harass them, and the ways they handle their job tools and mechanisms such as ice machines, forklifts, and trolleys. Flow maps will be used to observe the employees and merchants are moving in the fish auction. Designing solutions will be proposed to improve their quality of working and safety. Through ergonomic analysis tools and studies by observations in real life, an action plan on more ergonomically correct formulas will be presented.
