Digital transformation pushed the fashion industry to adopt digital technologies in its manufacturing processes. Meanwhile, the pandemic of Covid-19 has enforced the digitalization of many services, which in turn has enabled innovation, efficiency, and new ways for businesses to scale up. In the creative process of the fashion industry, the Covid-19 epidemic sped up the adoption of digital technologies, which had remained untouched, depending on analog technologies that made the process extremely bureaucratic, time-consuming, and costly. The widespread adoption of digital technology in manufacturing industries has resulted in a revolutionary approach to business activities that connects both mechanical and human components of the value chain, resulting in more efficient, flexible, fast, and reliable business processes. However, the status of Digital Transformation in the Greek manufacturing fashion industry has not evolved significantly during the recent years. The objective of this research study is to critically illustrate how emerging technologies can be applied during the product development process, in a post-Covid period, in the Greek manufacturing fashion industry. This study provides value to all enmeshed members via a use case that investigates the application and effectiveness
of the integration of digital tools in the process of apparel product development; and illustrate a possible solution for manufacturers and designers to launch their new developments using AR technology.
