The tourism industry is especially sensitive to emergencies or disasters. External factors influence travel. Due to COVID-19, there are travel limitations, fear for infection and directions for social distance. All these factors make travelling difficult and change peoples’ preferences. In this study opinions of Greek consumers are examined through a questionnaire. It is shown that there is a deep desire to travel although there is fear of contamination. People consider about sanitation risks in accommodation. Travelers believe that staying in a hotel is the safest option. They prefer to travel by private car or plane and avoid group vacations. No significant differences between genders, age groups and company in travel are detected.
