heal.abstract
Real estate is the land and any permanent improvements attached to the land, whether natural or man-made—including water, trees, minerals, buildings, homes, fences, and bridges. The purpose of this dissertation is to provide answers to questions such as: What are the special characteristics that make an app related to renting and buying property successful globally? What are the elements and functions that make these applications stand out and popular among users? Also, the relatively popular applications in Greece will be examined based on the previous conclusions and an attempt will be made to answer the question of how they could be technically improved to become more user friendly and long-term increase their popularity. In conclusion, the real estate and renting sector has begun to get digitized to meet the needs of modern buyers. New apps related to buying or renting properties launch every day. There is a need for these apps to be usable and useful and therefore their functional characteristics must be evaluated effectively. This study focuses on identifying the usability heuristics to apply when evaluating the usability of this type of app. In truth, this lengthy work would be impossible without the invaluable help of my supervisor professor, Ms. Katsaliaki, who has provided patient advice and guidance throughout the research process.
