While the pandemic seems to be in its late phase and many governments around the
globe have already abrogated the usage of vaccination certificates, Covid-19 is still posing
a threat to the community. The core concept of this dissertation is the development of a
system for managing vaccination certificates. The idea and mechanism of the proposed
solution is not limited to Covid-19 related certificates only, but rather it could be deployed in any kind of digital certificate. This dissertation proposes a system that bases its
function on a specific form of logs stored on Blockchains and a mechanism for the interpretation of these logs. This architecture provides several benefits with the most prominent
one being the suspension of certificates in case an already vaccinated individual is found
positive. As to our knowledge, in the current certificate management systems a vaccinated individual that is tested positive still holds a valid vaccination certificate during
the self-isolation period. This vulnerability allows infected individuals to commute freely
and thus facilitates the spread of the pandemic.
