This dissertation was written as part of the Executive MBA course at the International Hellenic University.
This study is a business plan for a tech start-up, that provides a paperless receipt solution for consumers, with the utilization of a digital receipt software designed by the start-up, and it is based in Thessaloniki, Greece. The goal of the company is to reduce the number of paper receipts printed, which will have a positive impact on the environment, while improving the management of the consumers’ transactions. This solution will also provide consumers with a simpler alternative to keep track of their expenditures.
The business plan gives a thorough description of the product and explains the reasons that it will be a game changer in the way financial transactions will be made in the future. Then, a market analysis is conducted by creating a survey, which determines the consumers’ needs and clarify if they are effectively served by the competition or if there’s room for improvement. With the results of the survey a marketing plan has been created and a projection of the number of sales that will be anticipated.
Moreover, an overview of the structure of the start-up is made including roles and responsibilities of specific members of the team and the flow of information between levels of the organization, as well as a list of potential positions that may be required for the business to run efficiently. Finally, standard financial documentation is included in the business plan that highlights the current and the projected sustainability of the start–up, including revenue, EBITDA, EBIT, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, p&l etc.
