This study aims to investigate green procurement practices with regards to the private
sector. One of the key challenges of today's businesses is to address the issue of
environmental sustainability. However, green procurement practices have various
disadvantages, primarily financial ones, which makes the topic of green logistics
controversial among businesses. The goal of generating zero emissions while enjoying
financial gains is unachievable; as a result, businesses must embrace green
programmes that are specifically adapted to their needs. The objective of this research
is to identify holes in the company's green procurement strategy and to demonstrate
how subjects identified in the literature review impact the daily operations of the
business. The case study that will be examined in this study is the clear market leader
in the grocery chain industry in northern Greece. The areas of operation that will be
taken into consideration in the study are warehouse management system, stock
control, transport, distribution, and reverse logistics as we focus on the sustainability
of the company's e-logistics. Businesses who seek to implement green logistics may
benefit from the findings presented below.
