This dissertation was written as part of the MSc in ‘Energy Systems’ at the International Hellenic University. The aim of this thesis is to quantify the scientific articles published in the database "Science Direct" about "Industrial Symbiosis" from 2004 to 2022. A scientometric analysis was performed and data tables and visualization maps were created, showing that there is an increasing trend since the year 2017 with China's participation being particularly determined. The keywords 'industrial symbiosis' and 'circular economy' are regularly found in the articles showing the increased interest of the scientific community in the financial field. I would like to thank my supervisor Prof. Charisios Achillas, for the guidance he offered me and the time he spent giving me useful advice and instructions for the completion of my thesis. In the same spirit, I would like to thank all the professors of the Department "Energy Systems" of the International University for their contribution to my scientific and technological formation during my years of study in the Department. Finally, a big thank you to my husband Ioannis, my sons Panagiotis and Michail and my parents for their moral support throughout my studies.
