The way the Covid-19 pandemic unfolded affected the world in its entirety and caused a
vast amount of changes, since the companies had to address this new, first of a kind
situation and adapt their way of doing things and management in general. It was
undeniable that the “remote working” revealed many new challenges that the companies
which were not prepared, had to face while following a new digitized working way.
This research examines two central terms, team management and collaborative distance
working. The history of internet and remote working is also being presented as well as a
definition regarding software tools that were used, why they were chosen and which
were provided by vendors and which had an open-source character.
Moreover, a questionnaire with a series of specific questions was formed and handed
online to participants who had experience in remote working and were living in the city
of Thessaloniki. After the analysis of the provided data, insights surfaced and we
provide corresponding suggestions and guidelines for future, possible usage.
