Nowadays bank failure has been all over the news with the fall of some
financial institutions. History has seen numerous instances of bank failures too,
which have had significant effects on economies, financial institutions, and society at
large. The Great Depression and the global financial crisis of 2007– 2008 are two
historical occurrences where bank failures occurred, which has highlighted the
necessity for a thorough knowledge of their causes, effects, and long-term
ramifications.
By examining the causes, effects, and potential long-term effects of such events, this
dissertation advances our understanding of bank collapses. This study intends to
shed insight on the complex nature of bank failures and
investigate possible countermeasures through the analysis of historical data, case
studies, and theoretical frameworks. Policymakers, regulators, and
financial institutions looking to improve stability and resilience in the banking industry
can learn a lot from the study's conclusions and suggestions.
