This dissertation was written as part of the MSc in Strategic Product Design at the
International Hellenic University. It uses a multimodal approach that includes application
design life cycle and User Experience (UX) research to examine important features of a
Human Resources (HR) platform. With more and more companies depending on digital
solutions for HR administration, user-centric design becomes critical. An extensive
examination of UX research (surveys) analysis opens the study.
The dissertation then explores ideation, wireframing, and prototyping as iterative
processes. Based on the results of the UX research phase, a high-fidelity prototype is
created with the goal of improving overall usability and addressing identified user needs.
Additionally, it examines at how essential visualization is for conveying data and
complicated hiring procedures within the platform. A variety of visualization approaches
are reviewed, from interactive graphs to data dashboards, with the goal of improving user
comprehension and decision-making ability. In addition to increasing user engagement, the
visualization component makes data-driven HR management methods easier to
implement.
Finally, the present dissertation develops HR platform design by spotlighting user-centric
principles. Through the integration of visualization techniques and insights from UX
research, the study provides a comprehensive foundation for creating an HR platform that
is easy to use, intuitive, and meets corporate HR goals.
