This dissertation was written as part of the MA in Art Law and Economy at the International Hellenic University. The basic aim of this essay is to mention all means and interests relating to culture and how some factors, which composes parts of our civilization, can be preserved and supported not only from Greece but also from the European Union. The reader will understand, through this essay, the role, the scope and the implementation of the archaeological intervention from which Community Support Frameworks are working. It will be examined the cultural program funding, such as archaeological excavations, restoration, maintenance works and protection of archaeological sites, from Greece and of course European Union. It will be focused the ‘2000-2006’ programming period which concerns the Community Support Framework, and also can organize the protection and enforcement of our cultural heritage. Initially will be done a depiction of reality in the field of economic and social cohesion and also will be stressed the importance attached to it. The following are the main financial tools employed by the European Union to achieve its objectives; for example Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund. Next we have a reference to each Community framework applied in Greece today. These Community Support Frameworks shall include the periods 1989-1993, 1994-1999, 2000-2006 and of course the programming period 2007-2013. In the first part we have a valuation of the application and the effectiveness in Greek economy and social cohesion. It is highlighted the third European context, especially anything that includes culture and pieces of it, not to mention that culture is the main goal of this essay. Additionally includes the regulatory framework of the Structural Funds, the objectives and priorities of Greece, as well as the preparation process. In this basic piece of work, there are some financial diagrams and charts that will help understand the course of this program. Regarding the second part of the work, it is presented a geophysical reference in the region of Florina and a brief history. Although the area is very rich in archaeological finds and archaeological sites, does not take part on the projects funded under the Community Support Framework. Only two, under these programs are funding and these are the ‘Saint Panteleimon’ and ‘Petres’. Therefore there is a geophysical, historical and archaeological reference for those two valuable, for archaeological data area, sites since these are works that were exploited through the Third Community Support Framework.
