This paper examines the Abkhazian Diaspora especially in Turkey from the late of 19th century till the post-Soviet Era and also focuses on the relationships between the Abkhazian Diaspora and the Motherland Republic of Abkhazia.
The subject is examined through the theoretical assumptions of Diaspora and Transnationalism. The main aim is to define the Abkhazian Diaspora focusing not only in Turkey but also in the wider area of the Europe and Middle East.
Moreover, the study of the Abkhaz People is based on historical sources which provide significant details about their origin and their identity. However, the clarification of the North West Caucasian People is needed.
Finally, the paper examines how the economical and Cultural activities of the Abkhazian Diaspora in Turkey and Russia enhance the preservation of the Abkhazian sovereignty (part recognized Independent State) and in what extent the role of the Abkhazian Diaspora Associations and Confederations fulfils this prospect.
