Preparing to submit

Master’s dissertations and Doctoral Theses

Prior to submission process please make sure you comply with the following:

  1. Make sure you have read and understood the IHU Open Access Policy.
  2. Check that the copy you will submit is the final version of your work.
  3. Convert your final document to pdf format.
  4. Save your pdf file following this pattern: name initial.surname_studyprogrammename acronym_dd-mm-year. The final file name should look like this: e.makridou_mng_20-09-2015.pdf. For uniformity reasons please consult the acronym list of the IHU study programmes below.
  5. For doctoral theses, please make sure you have read, understood and decided before starting the submission process A) which “Creative Commons” license you will grant to your work and B) if you will apply any embargo period. Note that this cannot exceed the period of one year (12 months).
  6. During the submission process make sure you provide as much information for your work as possible.

Research papers

Prior to submission process please make sure you comply with the following:

  1. You are the copyright owner of the work to be submitted.
  2. You have the consent of the other copyright owners (e.g. more than one author, journal publisher holds copyright etc.)
  3. In case you haven’t used the addendum proposed in the IHU Open Access Policy check the contract you have signed with the publisher to verify whether you are permitted or not and under which terms to publish your work in the repository.
  4. Consult the SHERPA/RoMeo list to find out what kind of open access policy is applied by each publisher. This way you will know which version of your work to publish in the repository and if there is any time or other limitation or not.
  5. During the submission process make sure you provide as much information for your work as possible.
